It is widely know that Aluminum bumpers for the NMT are prone to bending and breaking. These plastic bumpers will not break or deform. Being plastic they will naturally wear and scuff during offroading, but a set have never been broken!

Run one or run two.
The predrilled mounting holes are placed for the optimal placement on the truck. Despite this they are completely interchangeable.

The gusset along the top edge of the bumper keeps the bumper rigid.
The gusset prevents unwanted flex side to side on the bumper, but can still flex from direct impact without distorting. The nature of the material the bumpers are made from prevents the bumpers from deforming or losing shape for their duration on the truck.

The rear bumper also makes for a handy "carry handle",

After a Full Gallon run.
This bumper was run on the truck for a full Gallon of fuel over varied terrains. Scrapes and scuffs are evident, but the bumper never weakened.

The plastic bumpers are constructed from Polypropylene which is very durable yet flexable as well it is resistant to heat (wont melt below 320 deg F) and chemical resistant (glow fuel and cleaning agents will not weaken the bumpers). Polypropylene is widely used in RC parts manufacturing. Unlike aluminum bumpers they will not break or lose their shape from severe impacts even head on collisions at full speed. They are the thickness of the stock chassis and are mounted directly onto the truck with the stock diff screws (HPI #Z581). BUMPER DIMENSIONS: The width of the bumpers is 5.25 inches across which allows enough clearance for Proline masher 2K's with full steering actuation. The skid plate area is 2 inches wide by 3 inches long. 4 Predrilled and countersunk holes are located in the skidplate for ease of installation.
