To see what kind of interest there is, I am releasing a limited number of Plastic Skidplates for the HPI Savage.21. These skidplates have been designed to not require mounting hardware. They simply snap into place under the existing front and rear skidplates and are easily removed for maintenance and cleaning. The "s" shaped design has a few purposes/benefits, it allows the skidplate to flex when encounted with a severe impact. It allows the skidplate to be installed and removed multiple times with distorting. The shape also allows dirt and debris to easily bounce out and away from the brake assembly and drivetrain components.
  Center skid mounted Easily installed by placing the front of the center skidplate between the TVP's and onto the top of the front skidplate. The end of the center skid will butt up against the retaining block on the Front skidplate. By flexing the center skidplate in the middle the rear of the skidplate can be inserted between the chassis plates and rest snugly ontop of the rear skidplate. Its a SNAP!

  Plastic is an ideal option for weight watching Savage owners. The center skids weigh in at a mere 25 grams.

  No sacrifice to ground clearance. If there is enough interest in the skidplates, I am planning to also develop a similar center skidplate for Savages with Extended TVP's.
